This advanced hardcoat technology is backed by a 10-year limited warranty covering yellowing, loss of light transmission, surface abrasion performance, breakage, and coating integrity.
The MARGARD™ surface also provides excellent graffiti and chemical resistance, allowing panels to be cleaned and restored to a like-new condition without surface damage. Designed to withstand harsh weathering and deliberate physical impact, it offers reliable forced-entry protection and long-term clarity in demanding environments.
Well-suited for public and high-traffic installations, including correctional and secure facility windows, mental health facilities, retail storefronts, transportation shelters, schools, public buildings, and architectural glazing. LEXAN™ MARGARD™ MR10 is intended for clear, transparent applications only. Due to its highly mar-resistant surface, paints, vinyls, adhesives, and printed graphics will not bond to the coating. With the protective layer applied to both sides, second-surface decoration is not required or recommended.

As well as being constructed with incredibly high-quality polycarbonate material, Lexan MR10 Sheet with Margard coating is backed by a ten-year limited warranty against yellowing, loss of light transmission, coating failure, and breakage. There is also a wide range of different Margard products available, many with additional features such as antifog, or with grades for flat or formability, or flame retardance.
In December 2022, Röhm, supported by the private equity firm Advent International, agreed to acquire SABIC's Functional Forms business unit, which specializes in polycarbonate-based films and sheets sold under the LEXAN™ brand.
This strategic move aimed to enhance Röhm's position in the transparent films and sheets market by combining SABIC's polycarbonate products with Röhm's existing polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) offerings, known under the PLEXIGLAS® (ACRYLITE® in the Americas) brand.
By November 2023, Röhm and SABIC announced plans to merge Röhm's Acrylic Products and SABIC's Functional Forms business units into a new entity named Polyvantis.
This new company, POLYVANTIS, aims to become a leading supplier of film and sheet products, serving various industries such as building and construction, transportation and aviation, electrical and electronics, automotive, and home and garden. Polyvantis is expected to have approximately 1,500 employees and operate 16 production sites across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
